We are pleased to share that Elcyo CEO Junri Lee has been featured in The University of Osaka NewsLetter (Issue 92, published in February 2025), the public relations magazine published by The University of Osaka — the university where Elcyo's core Fresnel liquid crystal lens technology was originally developed.

The feature, titled "From Healthcare to Entertainment: Autofocal Glasses and the New Era of Glasses That Care for Your Eyes," introduces our proprietary Fresnel liquid crystal lens technology, the wide range of applications our Autofocal Glasses can open up across multiple fields, and our progress toward commercialization.

ヘルスケアからエンターテイメントまで！「オートフォーカスグラス」が切り拓く「メガネが目をケアする」新時代

「メガネ」は今や多くの人に必要不可欠だ。年齢を重ねるにつれ悩まされる老眼や、発症の低年齢化が進む近視。高齢者の白内障や子どもの小児弱視など、生活や治療にメガネを必要とする病気も多い。一方、VR（仮想現実）など、メガネを通して楽しむエンターテイメントも近年人気を博している。大阪大学発のスタートアップ「株式会社エルシオ」は、特殊なレンズがその人の見え方に応じて自動でピントを合わせるメガネ「オートフォーカスグラス」の開発を進めている。李蕣里代表取締役は、ヘルスケアからエンタメまで幅広く役立つ「夢のメガネ」の実現に向け奮闘している。
